Senator Schatz’s office can help you purchase an American flag that has been flown over the U.S. Capitol Building to honor individuals for their retirements, promotions in the military, or other special occasions.
In addition to the flag, you will receive a certificate, suitable for framing, stating that the flag was flown over the Capitol. The certificate will include the name of the person for whom the flag was flown, the occasion, and the date it was flown.
If you would like to pay by check or money order, please fill out the below form and follow the directions on the next page in order to submit your request.
If you would like to pay by credit card, please click here, and fill out the form. To have a flag flown on a specific date and receive a customized certificate please do not select "pre-flown flag" in the dropdown menu. For example, select "3.5 Cotton" and "3x5 Pre-Flown Cotton."
Please note that pursuant to provisions in the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 1996 (P.L. 104-53), the "flying fee" for each flag flown over the Capitol has increased to $9.00 for all flags to be flown. Please kindly account for this price increase when making your request.
