U.S. Senator Brian Schatz seeks a Staff Assistant for his Washington, D.C. office.  The Staff Assistant will be part of the front office team and help direct visitors and constituent inquiries.


The Staff Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Greeting and directing visitors to the office;
  • Answering phone calls and directing inquiries;
  • Helping manage constituent requests like scheduling tours or requesting flags;
  • Other general office tasks.

Experience and Skills

  • Welcome feedback.

This is a full-time entry-level position, and training will be provided for the right candidate. While a demonstrated interest in public service is appreciated, previous experience in government is not a requirement. Customer service experience is an asset.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this position is $45,000 per year. U.S. Senate employees are eligible for a number of benefits including student loan repayment, employer contribution for health care insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, and personal and professional development courses.


The position is based in Washington, D.C.
